Total SCAM!! -- I received a call from this number at work. All my voicemail says is my name, Kim Jurnak (NOT Kimberly) CALLER said that this call is for Kim Jurnak and that he is Deputy Mark Bowen from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Warrants and Citations Department. He claimed that I failed to appear for a grand jury selection and to call him at 734-219-9168 x212.

The call came in from Ypsilanti, MI. I live in Boston, MA. If this was official, he would have addressed me by my proper name, Kimberly. I called the number back several times and it rang, but then I received an automated message saying that the voicemail had not been set up yet.

I googled this information and found that this is a common scam. A person claiming to be a sheriff or deputy will call you, claiming that you did not report for jury duty and that you will be arrested if you do not provide them with personal information (SSN, dob, etc) or gift card information.

I tried calling back about 2 hours later and there was finally a voicemail message saying that I reached Deputy Mark Bowen, blah, blah, blah.

Please be aware and NEVER give ANYONE your personal information over the phone. Please be safe.
