This place has recently started calling me 3-4 times a day. Usually when I'm at work and can't answer the phone. They do not say what this is about, just tell me to call back. From researching it, it seems it's a debt collector. I do not owe any bills anywhere. Everything is paid. Since this just started in the last week I can only assume they have an incorrect number, but it's just a recording. It's VERY annoying!
This call was from Credit Acceptance. They called to tell me I needed to make a &562 payment to keep them from repossessing my car. I was in shock! I have payments automatically taken from my bank account & to my knowledge have never missed any. Apparently a year ago, Oct.2013, a payment was returned & has been gathering late fees ever since. I was never notified about any of this. I was told it is MY responsibility to check my bank balance & take care of it. If I saw this, I would have assumed it would be sent back. I told them, since I do not have that much today, & know absolutely nothing about this, would they send me the information & give me a week to take care of it. They would not! As soon as I get this taken care of, I will get finance somewhere else. This company is horrible!!!!
Oh, forgot to mention that I never ever received anything from Credit Acceptance through the mail, or even (until today) a voice message to return a call. I have never got any information - US mail, text, email, etc - from them about my account. Since payments were made regularly, & I am not ready to pay them off, I never looked anything up because I had no reason to. I am 70 years old & have financed many things in my lifetime. NEVER have I EVER had anything done like this! Their answer to everything was 'it is YOUR responsibility' to look up, apparently on the internet, everything about them. They are not responsible to do anything at all.
This number belongs to Credit Acceptance and they will bug you every hour . They are a TERRIBLE CREDIT COMPANY FOR A CAR LOAN. they get personal and are very RUDE, their customer service people get too personal and its none of there business why you cant pay or late. They are not suppose to ask personal questions. I have e-mailed the Corporate Office several times. So if you buy a car DO NOT HAVE the car lot go with this company because they will bug you even if you pay on time and they do not Refinance at all.
