Ahh, just filed a complaint with the FCC. "ec - 29 Dec 2007" was right. They can't legally do this! I get calls at work, my cell, wifes cell and at home. There are also a number of people at my work with the same issues.
Thanks for the phone number and the appropriate links!
I got a call from these guys last night, it was a recording talking about car insurance covarage and how I can't drive my car without it, today I did a whitepages.com search after reading all this and the info it gave me was: Provider: Global Crossing Telemanagement, Location: Ann Arbor, MI, County: Washtenaw, Phone Type: LandLine. I own the telezapper which is supposed to make tellemarkerters computers hear the beep when they call and trick their computer into thinking it's a disconected number thus getting me off thier list, and still these guys were able to contact me so I think this is a Scam. Becarful
the phone did not ring but when i looked at my caller id the number 734-864-9680 and when i went up on my computer it had an exclamation mark and said that the configuration with this id had used my computer. I had to click ok to use my computer. did they try to get information off my computer. what can i do to get rid of them or to report them. when i tried to call back i got the message your call did not go through try your call later. i work with a woman originally from detroit, michigan whose brother (according to her scammed people on the internet) she only has my address not my phone number as it is private.
I have received a cajillion of these "auto warranty" calls over the last few weeks. (At least 4-6 per day since mid Nov) I have also pushed the appropriate prompt a total of 6 times asking that my number be removed.Upon doing so - I get a recorded response indicating that my number has been taken off the call list and that I will no longer will be receiving calls. However - yet again at 8:08pm ET .... I GET ANOTHER F-CKING CALL...
My story is exactly like the other entries on this site. Tomorrow - I'm calling the FCC and this One Direct company which is listed on google. Let's see how they feel to get a dose of their own medicine.
I used to get these calls all the time. Then I reported each call to the FCC and, after a few weeks, the calls stopped.
By the way..these random prerecorded telemarketing calls are illegal; the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) specifically prohibits these kind of calls.
You can file a report with the FCC online here: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do
