I have gotten a call from a man with a thick indian accent everyday this week. Finally today I told him "Remove me from the call list and stop calling me" he said "Why!?" So I replied because "I said so!" He proceeded to tell me, "I will not stop calling you, I will continue to call you everyday, watch me!" and hung up on me. I don't know who the &^#$ he is or why he keeps calling. The number comes back to a BIG BOY restaurant in Ann Arbor, MI. ((WTF))
Indian male calls stating he is with the Department of Treasury offering free grant money. He was asking for too much info about me, name, address, email, what year i graduated. He mentioned my sons name. My son had previously been online looking at colleges, and financial assistance. But he wanted my info because i answered the call. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He refused. He said, he wanted to help me. I argued with him. I told him i believed it was a scam. He threatened to make sure my son would not be helped with college assistance. I asked to speak to his supervisor again. He said fine. He hung up on me.
Be careful when applying online for college assistance. You can always go to your local high school or community college to apply for scholarships or fafsa. My son had been previously approved for assistance and will attend college in the fall.
