yep, they hang up even quicker if you ask to speak to their supervisor. all these calls seem to originate out of Lancaster, OH. don't know who the outfit is but somebody needs to shut them down.
The call blocking with TWC worked for me for about a week or two, then the calls started coming in again. I suspect that they are now spoofing their Caller ID to get around the number block.
This is not Duke Energy. It is some other company. I made the mistake of picking up a few days ago and they told me they could lower the rate on my bill. I just needed to provide them with an account number for my Duke account. I worked in a bank and this is a common scam. If you were calling from Duke, you would already have my account number pulled up. Of course they have called every day twice a day since. Thank goodness for called id...I don't pick up.
Grabbed the phone because he woke me out of a sound sleep. Said he was calling to give a discount on my Dominion gas bill. I angrily informed him we don't have gas in this house, we have propane! I informed him he woke me up for no reason. He says he will take our number off the list. Yeah. Right. Whatever.
called me with illegal recording--to press number whatever in reference to my discount with my gas co--re my recent discount letter???? really!!!!!!!!!!! --no discount letter--hung up of course--calling my supplier to report---not that they'll do anything, but at least I tried
