Caller ID said "Pataskala OH" . Previous posts have indicted it is a "help I've fallen and can't get up" type of medical alert sales pitch.
Over the past year, I've received dozens of calls for this type of medical alert system from numbers located all over the country. I recently found out that my telephone company provides a free call blocking service. I go to a website, log in, and enter the phone number that I don't want to receive calls from. My list of blocked numbers is probably fifty numbers long now. Every telemarketer, scammer, survey caller and charity that calls my home phone gets put on my list.
Previous experience has taught me that if you just don't answer, they'll keep calling back, sometimes from different numbers. In just a couple of months, blocking numbers has greatly reduced the number of incoming nuisance calls to my home. Check with your phone company to see if they provide a similar free call blocking service.
