Quote:The 'Yes Scam' or 'Can you hear me?' scam says they record you saying yes and hang up afterwards. Then use the recording to charge you or open accounts anywhere. Its a rumor!Could you open an account  or charge something to a phone number by simply saying yes and nothing else? Try it and see for yourself how that goes!
I think it is very irresponsible for anyone to help spread this "yes" Rumor, without first investigating and understanding any possibilities towards its validity.

Ask yourself this:
What scam scenario wouldn't work with a simple yes from the scammer them self, that could only work with a recording of your voice? How would a caller know who answered, it could be your wife/husband/mom/dad or anyone who answered your phone and said 'yes' that gets recorded. What legitimate company would allow anyone to charge a client's phone or open an account with only a recording of someone saying yes?Why would scammers spend the extra time and effort on something that is simply pointless and a waste of time? Scammers could simply record voices from the internet or even passing on the street of anyone saying yes, if they really had a scam that required a recorded 'yes', as that would be much more efficient than making hundreds of calls everyday for a simple yes.
The Yes Scam is merely a rumor and unproven to have any validity that it could work. There may be scams where you agreed to something unwittingly and got recorded, but they need much more than a simple recording of a voice saying yes.
Saying 'yes' alone has no impact  on pulling a scam, since a scammer could just as easily say 'yes' themselves. They wouldn't know its you or some family member who answered your phone, so recording a 'yes' is pretty redundant.

Do you actually have the mental capacity to read that warning?
Did you really read it, instead of posting your link three times?
Does saying it three times make your contention true and ours false?

The warning did NOT state anybody lost money by simply saying "yes".
It did say the scam exists (we know that), and "This signature can later be used by the scammers to pretend to be the consumer and authorize fraudulent charges via telephone,".  Again, there have been NO VALIDATED REPORTS OF ACTUAL LOSSES DUE TO A SIMPLE "YES" ANSWER!

Do I need to shout louder?

How can the scammer "authorize fraudulent charges" if the mark does not reveal their card number or bank numbers?  If they DID reveal that info, the scam was NOT due to a "simple yes" ... it was due to the mark revealing personal info!

Now, give us a link to a validated report of a loss due to a simple "yes" ... go ahead, we will monitor this thread for a while.

I can see that you are another reading is fundamental failure.  But what I really love is when nitwits like you scuttle their own argument.  You see, just as I said, your article proves that no one has actually been scammed this way.  Maybe if you had learned to read, you would have noticed that the person mentioned in that article said that she hadn't seen anything negative as of yet.  There are no (and this is the important word) ACTUAL reported cases of someone ACTUALLY getting scammed this way over the two years or so that this scam has been reportedly going on.
Now I am sure some other troll will come here and post a link to another news story where no one was scammed as well.
It seems everyone knows about this imaginary scam because of twitter (only idiots use twitter) but no one knows anything of the real scams where people have actually lost millions of dollars.  So keep living in your fantasy world and when that IRS agent from Mumbai calls, make sure you clean your bank accounts out to pay them because it can't be a scam unless you say "yes".
