Caller ID says "REPUB CONGRESS". They leave no message.
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). I hear the following message, "Hi, you've reached the customer service line for the National Republic Congressional Committee. If you would like your number placed on our do-not-call list, please, press 1. Thanks and have a wonderful day." I never do this as it can actually make things worse.
I received another call from 804 292 0035 (caller ID "NRCC") the same day with an identical outgoing message.
It should be noted that the correct name of the NRCC is the "National RepublicAN Congressional Committee". The "AN" at the end of the second word is missing from that on their outgoing message. This reminds me of the faux calls I get from the "Internal Revenue ServiceS" scammers (note the incorrect plural). Not getting your name right on your outgoing message represents a major red flag to me.
In the past this number has used "SCF" as the caller ID. This likely refers to the "Senate Conservatives Fund".
While the NRCC and the SCF are both Republican groups, they have very different philosophies. In short, the NRCC is basically interested in maximizing the number of House Republicans without much interest concerning how conservative they are. The SCF is more interested in the Senate. They tend to focus on conservatives, and have been criticized for targeting less conservative Republicans. I have difficulty imagining that the NRCC and SCF are working together.
Combining what has been listed above, I do not believe the caller is either the NRCC or the SCF. This is likely a SCAMMER.
If you wish to donate to either the SCF or NRCC, google their name and contribute via their website.

This is Not the National RepublicAN Congressional Committee or anybody working for the Republicans. It is believed to be somebody or some group working to create animosity toward Republicans by making annoying phone calls.
