Unavailable number, message states that the this is a final call and the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call 760-309-4233. When I called back the individual sounded like he was outdoors, he had my name and my previous address. When I proceeded to ask him a question he hung up on me, then when I called back he hung up.
After I received a message about the IRS suing me, I immediately called. The guy on the other line spoke broken English and informed that in order for the IRS to drop the lawsuit I would have to wire them $1,800 cash... Total scam!
I just received exact the same message from this number 760-309-4233. So I called them back immediately and the male person has thick Indian or Russian accent kinda. It was so loud in his background. He knows my name, my husband's name and our previous address. He said we will get arrested due to IRS filed a lawsuit. Also he is forcing me to pay $1400 immediately over the phone. I said, what is your name, your address and badge number? He said he cannot tell me those things since our conversation is recorded. I said, Im driving, can you give me the account number so I can pay online thru IRS website? He said there's no so much time the police is on their way to arrest us. I said, i'm driving. then he started yelling at me and I felt harassed on the phone, he was screaming put me on hold. I got scared so I shut my phone. Total scam!
This is a total scam. IRS doesn't phone you like this. They mail letters if there is some problem with your account. Caller ID showed actual phone number as 210-280-8487 which is San Antonio TX. Robot msg says to call the 760-309-4233
