i received a voice mail stating that Officer Heather Grey from the IRS needed me to call her as soon as i see her message. I googled number and it comes up melba rd, Encinitas, CA. This number is a scam. A man with heavy accent answered and I could hardly understand him. Kept saying from IRS. I do record all my calls so when I told him he said fine and the only things i could understand was IRS and fine. He hung up on me. If you *67 them they put you never-ending hold. i called back and why he was trying to scam people and he got really mad and told me to just shut up he said, shut up and hung up.
Yes I got the same call yesterday and I kept calling back until I got through..A man with a Philapino accent answered and told me there are criminal investigation against me. I ask why? He said how did you file for your taxes and I told him I have not filled for my 2013, 14 and 15 yet. He asked why? I told him we had gotten an extension and on top of it I don't owe IRS they owe me. When I said that he said he will look into it and call me back...So far no calls and I couldn't stop thinking about it so I decided to look up this # and Thank God I can a cross all these comments. Now I feel much better and Thank God I didn't gave him any of my personal information
I got a call from this number Tuesday 7/19 and called the number back and was put in contact with an Male of Indian descent who claimed that his name was Thomas Brown, obviously bogus, with badge number 1099748 claiming to be with the Georgia office of the IRS. He asked me to verify my address and email, YEAH RIGHT!!! He did have my email but not address at which time he wanted me to validate an address in some town I have never heard of nor lived. When told wrong he wanted me to give him my correct address...LOL not gonna happen! After him wanting all the info from me I began asking him for his information and he became very agitated and unwilling to answer more than his "Name and badge number" I also was able to get that he was supposedly calling from the Georgia IRS office. I even asked him if he is from Georgia why is he calling someone in CA, didn't care about the state lots of people. He just told me that when the federal police arrive at my door I would then know all that I would need to know. Told him good luck and hung up... Definitely a scam... Co-worker got the same calls at work on the work recorded line and when they were told that it is a recorded line we had no further problems.
