I had almost the same call, only from an East Indian woman named Adam Rose. Guess she didn't know that Adam is typically a male name. The call came from 760-666-8508. She also said the legal matters would be a mess for me.
Apparently a guy with an East Indian accent just called up (3 times!) from "The Treasury" and said if I didn't pick up he would send the cops right away. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. What a loser. OH MY GAWD, I am so frightened. Not.

I too received a call from an Eastern Indian man who gave the name James Howard. He left a message saying he's been trying to contact me for some time and that I have "law enforcement matters" that have been started against me. I should call him back at 213-536-0575 (which is not in service) or have my lawyer call him; or my legal matters will become a "mess" for me. The call came from a Magic Jack.com # 760-666-8508 (which has not been assigned). People please be aware!
I also got a call from this number from a Jennifer Lankin, also Indian, said she was from the Department of Legal affairs and there was legal matter I needed to attend to immediately or have my lawyer call to delay further action. Definitely a script, don't fall for it.

•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
