Called twice and both times when I picked up, it was dead air for several minutes before disconnecting. When I called the number back, first it was a recording that said "your call is very important to us, please hold", went to dead air and then disconnected. The second time I called I got someone who said she is from Disabled American Veterans, and that they are exempt from the Do Not Call list as a charity.

Tonight after more calls today, I reached a different person, who said they were with American Homeless Veterans. I again asked them to take me off their list.
This phone call is from the "American Homeless Veterans" who are ranked as America's 40th Worst Charity (http://www.tampabay.com/americas-worst-charit ... erican-veterans).
First they called my cell from their nbr 763-354-1486 and within 2 minutes called from 763-200-9433. to my home number. My husband who was a Vet just passed away but he didn't seem to care. On my cell they didn't leave a message but I answered the home. I believe in helping out the vets but not thru a phone call.
