text scam claiming international access code 110+17632031185 as alleged origin with message:
"You've been selected to win a FREE $1000 Best Buy Gift Card! Enter code: 'FREE612' at www.bestbuy.com.bbvy.biz to get 1 now. Only 121 left! (txt cut to stop)"
received 05/10/2012 8:20 p.m.
Standard advice--do not reply to such scams. The 17632031185 apparently was selected to make it appear it was coming as a text message from Best Buy headquarters. Best Buy does not, nor have they ever had the targeted telephone number abused with this message. 110 dials international access, where things go from there might be Puerto Rico, or elsewhere, depending how the originating number might be diced up, if that is not a falsified number, too. I suspect an attempt by international dialing thieves that run up enormous charges if you return a call and access their thieving network.
