This place must have a 'call center', in which they are able to call from many different area codes to trick you into answering it. They do not leave a message and if you call the number back it say "please hold for a representative" and then it hangs up. DO NOT talk to these people, tell them they have the wrong number or to send you proof of the debt through the mail. Give them a family members address or even have it sent via email (even better). Or tell them if they call one more time you are calling the Attorney General's office. Also - If you do decide to talk to them, when they ask you to identify yourself, ask them to identify themselves FIRST - get first, last name. A VALID number in which you can return the call and their mailing address as well as a supervisor name. Once a debt is charged off it's charged off. It might appear on your credit report as such but you no longer owe ANY one.
