I picked it up and it left a message about how I need to change the interests rate with my credit card and that if I wanted to talk to a representative I could just press 1. If I decided to change my mind and not worry about interest rates I would press 2 so they would stop trying to contact me. I pressed 2 of course.
The funny thing is I don't even have a credit card.
Just got a call from this number stating they had an opportunity to for me to reduce my credit card interest rate. It offered me an option 1 to speak with some one and option 2 to not be called and miss out on this "opportunity". I did pressed 2.
this number is from a criminal gang of phishers building a list of gullible idiots who are dumb enough to answer a number they don't recognize. That means they are also likely to be susceptible to credit identity theft scams.
Rule # 1 - if you don't recognize the number, DON'T ANSWER IT. Let it go to voicemail. Listen to the voicemail. Then do a reverse seach on the number and see if it turns up here on 800Notes.com
