Mark Town called me with an urgent matter.... It was on my answering machine when I got home from work. I immediately looked this number up and found out all the bull surrounding this guy.... me being the nice person that I am decided to fill up his answering machine with beautiful music. I called and every time the voicemail picked up I played some loud music. Even if he deletes it, his voicemail will be full! ♥
A message for Robert left on my answering machine stated the caller was Investigator Towns, and he needed me to be call back asap concerning an urgent matter. As we have family in the 770 area code, I was concerned and attempted to call back after hours. No one answered, so I searched the number online and learned it is a debt collection scam. My credit is fine, so they have nothing to file a claim about. Can't someone shut them down?
I just got Inspector Towns on the answering machine. Since I have an elderly father out of town, I didnt know if the 770 was a cell phone prefix or not. Anyway, I called back and got a machine. I mistakenly left my alternative call back number before searching for the area code and finally searching the phone number. Ahh well, live and learn.
Today my wife received a call from Purdy & Associates asking if she knew a Ricky Rains and the caller identified herself as Investigator Shepard. My wife told Shepard she did not know anyone by that name and when asked the reason for the call, Shepard got very rude and hung up. I called the number back and Investigator Shepard answered the phone. When asked what kind of business Purdy and Associates is, she said "That is not relevent" and hung up on me. Apparently Purdy and Associates has changed their phone number since your last posting on 7-16-10. The new number for Purdy & Associates that I received the call from is 770-458-6789.
I got a call from Investigator Towns today. I was at work, but as he was leaving a message, my sister in law was here and hurried to answer because he said I needed to "return his call immediately because there was a serious situation!" Of course my sister in law freaked out. THEN he asked for my husband. Well, once he got on the phone, they asked for his nephew... he doesnt even live in this country!!
My husband called his nephew and has no clue. This is when I decided to google the number.
Same game, different name I guess.
Got a call from a Investigator Towns saying if I didn't pay now the feds would come tomorrow to arrest me for Check fraud and evasion. I am mentally Ill with brain damage, I gave him a prepaid debit card number, I am currently investigating the validity of his claim
