We got a call from them too,
They said they were collecting for UPS and that we had an outstanding bill for $4,000+ and wanted us to set up an automatic funds transfer. We do have an account with UPS but always pay our bills on time.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said that maybe the bill got lost in the mail.
I told them to fax over a copy of the bill but we would not be setting up an automatic funds transfer. They have still not faxed over any bill.
Get calls regularly from these jokers looking for my brother with a very important message! (they leave a message in the VM so I know it is for him.) He doesn't even live in my state. Never has. Never lived with me anywhere, except my parents' home. Why they calling me?
Exact same thing happened to me today. Received a call from person who ID herself as federal agent looking for my step brother. Was told he used me as a reference however; I have not heard or seen him in 10 years. When I explained to them that he had knowledge of my address or phone # she repeated my exact address and phone # back to me. After looking into this I contacted the Atlanta FBI etc. When she returned my call I blasted her dumb [***]. They are a real piece of work and it is against the law for them to ID themselves as a federal agent.
