12/2/14: Caller ID showed: "Publishing Fros" 1-770-491-8293 and caller asked for me by name, said he was Mike Morgan claiming I had entered their sweepstakes and had won a major prize, asked me my age, and said his supervisor would call back to confirm my address. Supervisor: "Bob Rose" (with a southern drawl) called a minute later, congratulating me on the win of the $1,000 Grocery Savers Coupon Book and that I would also up for a $10,000 cash prize drawing on Dec. 30th. All I needed to do was continue my Reader's Digest subscription (then small talk mentioning my age...was I enjoying my subscription, etc.). Then he said all he needed from me was a VISA or Master Card number to cover the extension on my subscription. I told him I never give my credit card information over the phone, couldn't I just renew it online and he (sounding exasperated) said no, he needed a VISA or Master Card or a check over the phone and I said, I'm sorry, I never give my credit card information over the phone and he immediately hung up. In rapid succession I received two more calls which I did not pick up, but even though the Caller ID showed: "Publishing Fros" the number listed was 1-770-491-8312.
