This number calls multiple times a day. We don't answer numbers we don't recognize. Caller id says "unknown name". We live near Atlanta Georgia, the areacode says it's local, but looking at the other comments posted, I kind of doubt they are.
Received a call from this number, Caller ID reported Tallapoosa Ga. Caller spoke with a Mexican accent and sounded like he was reading a script. Said he was calling from the Vehicle Processing Department in California. When he offered to shift me to his "supervisor" I took him up on his offer. He hung up.
Called the number back and got a recording for calling back 9 am to 4 pm Pacific time. Guess he was right about one thing, they were in California.
This number is constantly calling, but doesn't leave a message. I finally answered today and they knew what year, make and model of my car. They wanted to know how many miles I had on it. I told them that I wasn't comfortable giving out information to random strangers that call my house. I asked that she please take me off the list and then I hung up. She had a foreign accent and was hard to understand. Please stop this. It makes me want to disconnect my home phone.

They asked for a name and when I asked who they were. they just kept repeating "Vehicle Processing Dept". They wouldn't give me any information other than the company name, "Vehicle Processing Department". I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me. It is definitely a call center. I am on the Do Not Call List.
A male called asking for mr or mrs. When asked who was calling, I could not understand his accent/response (sounded as if imitating a computer generated voice, with thick accent). He tried to press on however again I would ask who was calling and what regards. When I told him I couldn't understand him, he hung up on me. ;-)
I did phone back and got the same recording as others, office closed, pacific time, yet local ga number. Maybe telemarketer, maybe scammer, maybe in a faraway land out of US jurisdiction; and he wanted to know if I still owned a car, one I've NEVER owned.
Sshhh, I did understand the accent. ;-D
