This number calls continuously. When you call back you get a message that says "Your call is very important to us and all of our representatives are currently assisting other customers and will be with you shortly. Please hold on the line for the next available agent." Then, you get about 10 seconds of music and the call disconnects. The caller ID says "UNKNOWN NAME." Apparently, it must not be very important if they don't even want to talk to you!!!
Today this call came again and I answered. A gentleman asked for my husband by his first name. When I asked who was calling, he said his name was Ken Garcia and he was calling from Health Plans to give us important updated information regarding our pharmacy insurance dealing with chronic pain and discomfort. I advised we do not have chronic pain or any discomfort and asked to be removed from the calling list. Mr. Garcia said he would do so.
My Mother received this call. They said they were updating her diabetics supply information to send out her supplies. They asked for her birth date and she told them that they already have that information. They said it was just an update and that the conversation was being recorded. They asked for her birth date again and she hung up. She gave me the number and I called it. I received the same message as M&M.
Good for your mother, that is exactly how she should have handled it. There are a number of companies who call like this pretending to be the plan administrators for Medicare Part D and Medicare Supplemental health plans. When pressed, they cannot correctly identify the actual plan you have. They make these phising calls to try and obtain enough information to bill Medicare or the supplemental plans for supplies and medications that are already being supplied and paid for. They are a big source of Medicare fraud.
If you have an iphone with the latest OS you can choose to "block this caller" from your recent list and then you won't get them calling again. they have been calling my son's phone number almost continuously for the last several days.
