I get multiple calls from this number which is associated with the American Red Cross. I appreciate the truly invaluable work they perform but if I wish to donate blood I will call them. I prefer not to have them call me. I decided to have my number removed from the list. I reluctantly provided them with my full name but that wasn't good enough for the person I spoke with. She required my date of birth. I politely refused to provide that information but assured them the name would match the phone number being called. The woman gave me a hassle so I told her I am going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I said you can deal with FEDs if you prefer but I am a lot easier to work with than they are. Her enthusiasm perked up at that point. She took my phone number but still insisted on having my date of birth. She said blood donation is considered a medical record. I told her I have not donated blood. I just keep receiving phone calls asking me to donate. Now it was clearer to her and I thought the matter was taken care of. It was not. The woman asked me if anyone else in the house could be donating blood. I said no. The woman kept pressing the issue. I told her it's only myself and my wife at home. My wife doesn't donate either. The woman asked me if I was certain. Now I am getting really steamed. Every time she asked me if anyone in the house donates blood I answered no. Finally, she stopped asking and prodding. We'll see if I get another call from these [***].
