Picked up.. They hung up.. So I Called them back and put them on hold.. rise repeat a few times.. Sure to annoy some of their sales staff..
Now what would be fun is to create a script within our phone system to randomly call (during business hours) their 770-886-4000 number and put the calls on hold. The agents would have to eat dead air. However, that might not be legal.... but oh so tempting to reverse the tables.
Few weeks ago front receptionist said someone calling me from IBM. I told her i was not expecting call from IBM and asked if they told what the call was regarding. She repleid "no". I stated they are probably "fishing" for info or something and asked that the call not be accepted.
Then today, same thing!... Receptioninst said Andy with IBM calling. I stated "this happened few weeks ago didnt it?"
Her reply "Yah, i do recall that. And this time thay asked for your email address. I told him I didnt have access to provide it to them"
I asked if they said what the call was about. She said "No, but they are asking specfically for you by name."
I had her put call through so i could talk to this Cat directly. I picked up, first things said "This is Andy from IBM and we need to confirm your address as Abcde Road in Abcburg, is this correect?"
I asked what this concerns.He said i must have had dealings with IBM in past and need to confirm some information.
So I'm real suspicios thinking... this guy first stated he was with IBM but then says he works for KMAone, he speculates i previouly did business with IBM, is trying to confirm info I have never provided to IBM, and is trying to squeeze my emaill address out of the front receptionist.
I asked if he worked for IBM, he replied they are contracted by IBM. I asked for his full name, company name, and location. He said he was Andy Runnebohn, and works for KMAone in Georgia.
I asked what is it that he really wants... he replied is same manner "You must have had done business with IBM, on their behalf we are want to confirm your info."
I told him i have never delt with IBM. He quickly said Ok, liek he was going to hang up. Befoer he did i stopped him, telling him to delete all information about me. He pleasantly replied he woud do that and ended it with have a nice day.
Will he really, I dont know, but thats my experiece with KMAone
I'm not too keen on laws for marketing calls...So is KMAone doing illegal activities here?
KMA shows up on caller ID, woman said she was calling on behalf of IBM, asks to speak to IT Director, caller did not know name of IT Director so I am assuming that this was a cold call. This is annoying as the person who called, had called a number that was used for emergency/urgent business issues. Caller also tries to get the name of the IT Director (phishing, and./or to update their sales database).
