I just received a call saying they were from the IRS, I owed $8,900 in back taxes and to avoid losing my drivers license, black lock my SS number or Jail time, I could pay it now to stay out of court. They also tried to tell me my criminal attorney has filed a response. I said, "seriously?" I never hired an attorney, so impossible, its impossible I owe that kind of money. The jerk on the phone started raising his voice. I asked him one last question, so you are trying to get me to give you $8,900 right now to stay out trouble? He said yes. I said send me something in the mail, and hung up. Total SCAM!
So apparently my 12-year-old son owes $14,000 in unpaid taxes and if he doesn't tell them his ss and pay them by the end of the week he will be going to jail for 10-20 years. Um ok.
