There is no social construct or contract about answering the phone. I'll answer or not and don't need anyone's permission or approval.
As a regular reader and poster here, I can tell you that in most threads, a "Called Me" post, is still useful into when it is appears in the call stream. You see 20 "Called Me" in the thread in a sequence of hours or days and that forms a pattern, and even a simple pattern can ID a scammer.
Unknown numbers, hidden and fake names are all I need to know to ignore and block a call. You forget that for us strict adherents to "Ignore and Block", any engagement or conversation with unwanted callers just gets you more calls. From that caller and from whoever the career scammers share info with.
How can knowing WHO called matter? Hidden names and faked numbers tell me all I need to know - That someone whats to trick me into answering my phone. Why would I want to talk to someone who is deceptive? Or call back unknown numbers and hidden names? To me, that makes below Zero sense. I have all the info I need to ignore and block the caller, to have my privacy.
I welcome "Called Me" posts - Poster's are not required to engage with scammers, surveys or other trash. If I looked up the number that is the topic of this thread, I see even these few posts, and I know I can ignore and block this number. I don't really care if it is Comcast, "Microsoft" or Doctor Doolittle. I have a right to my peace and my privacy.
Ignore and Block works. I get fewer calls in a month than some people reporting get in a day.
