the number is still active ,
I called them several times and pissed them off and they shut the phone down some how .
I called the dirt bags again this morning and they are back to Scamming. I plan to continue tormenting these thieves .
In the past I used portable Boat air horn when I received unwanted calls and it works very well .
This is one of those scam calls that claims that legal action is being taken against you for tax fraud. If you get it, please don't be alarmed. It is fake. Simply report the call to the IRS and FBI websites for scams of this nature...Google where to report it.
And have pity on these poor souls that resort to using scare tactics and try to rob people instead of pursuing a real living...there's no point in getting angry or hateful...just accept that they can't really hurt you and move on. I'm speaking from experience.
(BTW 800notes...you need to add a category for scam or criminal calls...."prank call" is really a misnomer...this was a criminal act)
Answering machine registered Us Internal Rev and the calling no. was 1-800-829-1040. The message was as reported above with this number to call. Speaker had foreign accent and a little difficult to understand.
Received an irs phone number but was greeted by a foreigner on the line claiming I was charged with fraud . I asked for a follow up number was given 773 312 4303. Looked up the number and found the number he gave me was linked to a scam.
