I have reported this scam to the FTC. It is a scare tactic. I recieved a similar call many years ago. The "officer" was very aggressive and told me that I would go to jail if I didn't pay $3000 fine. I hung up on him. I didn't pay the fine, and I didn't go to jail
When I called this number back, a male who spoke very poor English, identified himself as Officer Richard Smith from the IRS. He stated that there was a claim against me and that the govt. would be sizing house car and freezing my bank accounts and then I would be arrested. LOL When I asked to speak with Supervisor, he became agitated and stated, "NO YOU WILL TALK TO ME!". He asked my name, but I hung up before giving him any information. WHAT A SCAM
