Very odd and didn't even know who it was or what the message entailed. Regardless it's a scam.

Same. got a text today (07/20/2013) from an old high school soccer teammate with the same message and a link (gldd.me url). the text came from a (207) area code, which is in Maine, and I know for a fact my old teammate is in San Diego. scammy.
