Got a call from Angelie. Wanting to sell an advert space in a drug & addiction magazine that will be distributed to the schools around my area. She in turn gave me an 866-421-5999 to call back, and it turns out to be a drug/magazine #. Weird.
I was greeted by first name by a woman, as if she knew me personally, allegedly calling from Concordia Hospital (Winnipeg, MB) looking for money "for the kids". I stopped her in her tracks and advised that due to the high number of fraudulent calls our office receives, we were not prepared to discuss charitable donations by phone. I spoke with Concordia Hospital and they have confirmed that they are not, in fact, running a telephone campaign. They run their campaigns by mail, and on occasion, by telephone — but only to existing donors. It should be noted that the correct name is "Concordia Foundation".
