Received this message twice within last 2 weeks. I recall several years ago another scam like this out of Dorchester. Dorchester is the Nigeria of New England I guess. Are these disposable phones? They have to do something about untraceable numbers, use finger prints or something.
It looks like an email, not a text message. My cell phone shows emails as a picture, not text.
I called the number and it's a computer generated voice asking for my 16-digit credit card number. It states that the service is all computer-based and you cannot speak with customer service at this time. Definitely sounds like a scam.
Intelius phone search shows it as a land line out of Winchester, MA -- a couple of towns over from me. Anyone else from the Boston area?
I got this message and i believe it is out of Dorchester. I got a similar text message last week from another number, out of state, basically stating the same thing....it seems like a text but it is an email....i have no credit union, and bet it is a scam...
