I finally picked up one of these calls (after just letting it ring dozens and dozens of times over the past few weeks). A female voice asked if I was aware of the pending rate increase from the electric company. I asked them if they were looking to speak with someone in particular. They said that they wanted to speak with the person who pays the electric bill in the house. When I asked again who they wanted to speak with, I got a male voice, who identified himself as a supervisor who "just happened to be listening in on the call." I forget the name of the company he said he was with (my apologies), but he said they could offer a rate of 7 cents per kwh as opposed to the 16 from National Grid. They said that the rate would be for 2 billing cycles, then we'd get a "competitive" rate after that. I told him no thanks, and asked to be taken off of their calling list. He asked me, "you'd rather spend 16 cents per kwh instead of 7?" I said, "yup. I sure would." He said, "that makes a lot of sense," and he hung up on me.
whoever is calling or has control, PLEAS STOP. They call 6-9 times a day, no one on line, and hang up when you answer. They start at 8 am to after 9 7 days a week
