I received a call today from this number 781-328-9352. Showed up on Caller ID as Highmark. A recording asked me to verify my name, which they had correct. Said they needed to inform me of a Highmark service where you can call and talk to someone about health care issues. (I think the actual service is "Blues on Call" where you can talk to a registered nurse.) The recording asked if I wanted to speak to this person. I said yes. The woman who answered wanted to verify my name. Then she asked me for my date of birth. I stopped her right there and said I wasn't going to give personal information to a call I didn't initiate. I asked them why they were calling about this, I was already aware of Blues on Call and didn't need to use this service. She offered to give me the number for me to call but I refused. She then asked if I wanted to be taken off their call list and I said definitely. I called the number back using my cell phone and the recording said it was Highmark but didn't recognize the number I was calling from. This seems fishy to me. Why would Highmark, based in Pittsburgh, use a Boston area number? If this is legit it is downright annoying. I plan on calling Highmark Member Services tomorrow to report the incident and/or complain.
