We have received numerous calls from this number stating that he wants to help with computer problems, specifically Micro-soft. Have told him not to call again, but that doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to stop the calls. The caller I.D. doesn't display this number when the call comes in, but hit redial and this is the number that was automatically dialed and all I got was a busy signal. When the call comes in a cell phone with someone's name appears.
This number has called me numerous times over the past few days... including Sunday. I never answer. Today they stayed on the line and talked to my answering machine for about 3 1/2 minutes...saying Hello? hello?... can you hear me? hello? Lots of noise in the background. Next time I may answer and if it is about my computer, I may keep him waiting about 15 mins while I get my computer out of the closet and hook it all up... then he will have to wait 5-10 mins while i boot it up...then hopefully it is during the time when I have my 4-year-old granddaughter here... she can sing or talk his ear off..... whichever she feels like...
Obviously everyone knows this, but this is an offshore company attempting to obtain your IP address in order to hack your computer. I talked to them for 10 minutes - whenever I asked them to tell me my OS version and patch level they 'escalated' me to a different technician. I finally let them know I'm a government IT director (which I am) and they promptly hung up.
this number calls multiple times daily, and when we answer they hang up or it's just dead air. when we try to actually call back this number, it says you are calling a number that is disconnected. therefore, we do not know who they are or what they want, we are just pestered over & over by these "dead air" calls from this number every day over & over, even though we are registered on the nationwide "Do Not Call" list...what can we do to stop these unwanted calls?

I started with "Thanks for calling me back!"
I searched for "having trouble installing windows" and got a page and started reading it to them. Asking detailed questions about upgrading from windows 8 to 8.1. They hung up on me
I only answered this call because it was from Massachusetts where I used to live. Indian sounding woman. Asking for my husband. She wouldn't tell me who she was. Just kept asking for Jay. I finally said I'm his wife, can I help you and she went ballistic. Jay is married??? I can't believe it - so on and so forth. I finally said yes, for 44 years, who is this. Of course she wouldn't say and I said you have the wrong number and slammed the phone down.
I hope she wasn't trying to keep me on the line to do something to my computer. I think I'll run a scan on it right now.
