What I did was this: Contact the parties, have them place you on their DNC list, then when one steps out of line that has no clue, you go directly to his or her website (most all of them have one) go to the contact us, write them a note and tell them you don't appreciate the calls, to place you on their list, and give them the URL for the political DNC and tell them to use it!
Its been amazingly quiet these last few years. The only one I had to get on was ol Newt about it.
Dunno what universe you're living in, but that hasn't been my experience, at least not in *this* hotly-contested election. Contacted the campaign HQ of the front-runner, Katharine Clark, several times, by email and phone. Didn't even make a dent in the number of calls from her. Ditto for several others. Oh, and then there's this useless response: "That call didn't come from us... that's a PAC, and *we* have no control over what they do." Easier just to block 'em all and move on.
