I just got a call from 781-648-8590. I didn't answer it and no message was left. I called it back (my number is blocked on caller ID by default) and got a "not in service" message.
It seems like the new thing for telemarketers is to mimic the first digits of your telephone number, presumably to appear to be a local call. The first 6 digits of my home and cell phones are different. Lately I've been getting multiple calls to my home and cell phones from numbers with the same first 6 digits specific to each. Some of them leave recorded messages about lowering my electricity costs.
