The "free medical alert device" scam has a new number. We got a call from this one today at 4:32 pm. The caller ID was MASSACHUSETTS. I thought it could be someone I knew, so I answered. A recording started with "Congratulations, you have been selected to receive a free medical alert device..." I hung up immediately and added the number to our call blocker. When I tried several times to call the number (our caller ID is blocked by default), it was always busy.
