Very few of those calling an behalf of Veterans or Police or Firefighters give much at all to those they are collecting for. The majority spend 80% or more of the funds taken in on expenses, often more than 90% and only reluctantly reveal how little goes to the charity they are collecting for. Never give to telephone solicitors unless you know the majority of your money actually goes to the cause.

I have answered these people before at a different number, and asked about their services since I am (actually) a combat disabled retired veteran. veteran affairs provides for us, (I said) and I have never heard of you and I know of no one who has received anything from you. he still asked for me to send them some money for the "other" disabled vets who weren't so well off?
I hate that the honorable name of disabled veteran is dragged through the mire by these scumbags. all of us are proud of our service and would do it all again if we were able "maybe avoiding shrapnel a little better". do not give to anyone who represents themselves as "helping" vets.
