This company uses a computerized system (robots) to call telephone numbers. Then when you answer the call the computer makes a note that someone has answered the call. This is why when people answer these calls there is nobody on the other line. When you answer, this tells the computer that this number is to a real person and sends this information back to the computer. Then, these SCAMMERS starts calling from multiple phone numbers to get you to send them money through moneygram, green dot debit card or any other (non-traceable) financial means to STEAL your MONEY.
The best thing is to NOT accept calls from a number that doesn't have the name of their company or of the person calling in the NAME section of your phone's caller ID.
My Caller ID showed these in the Name section:
- Houston TX
- Fort Pierce FL
- 800 Service
- Name Unavailable
- and some calls even have the number in both the NAME and NUMBER sections.
Don't even answer these calls to show the computer you're a real person. Just report these numbers right away. This number that called me have been also linked to these other numbers (caller ID name).
They are probably using a masking program that allows you to anonymously change the number and caller ID name.
The guy has a foreign accent possibly from India!
Report these numbers and tell the government to get to the bottom of this as I have been receiving multiple calls from all of these numbers back to back just like most of you have.
Over the past few days I have received calls that I could not answer, when I checked the missed call there was never a phone number or voicemail. Today I was able to answer, after a few seconds I could hear someone pick up, there were voices in the background, then they just hung up without saying a word.
Got a call from this number earlier today and then again this evening. I answered it this evening and the guy on the other end when he finally answered got very shall we say pissy with me and I'm not the person they are looking for. He was throwing out the f-word like there was no tomorrow and even threated that he was coming to my house to kick my [***]. I would love for him to show up but know he won't. I called the number back and tried to get a company name but they would not provide one to me. How do I go about reporting numbers like this to the government.
