called and said that they can save me money on my aetna insurance payments ...when i asked to put him on hold so that i could take another call he hung up .
Said they were calling from Social Services for Blue Cross Blue Shield to save money for cost of Medicare Insurance. Told them I was going to call Blue Cross Blue Shield to find out what it is about. Haven't heard from them since then.
I just got my first call from this number today, and did not recognize it. I am one of the many who do not answer calls that I do not recognize. However, I *DO* recognize the name Social Services Coordinators. They are a legit company who contracts with insurance companies to help their subscribers find better access to services. I went on disability Medicare recently, and have worked with these people several times now. I understand the unwillingness to deal with someone you do not know; and even voiced my hesitation to them the first time they called. They are really nice, and asked me to call my insurance company to make sure that they are legit. That's exactly what I did, and they verified that SSC does work with them. And you do not have to pay them for any services they provide to you.
