I just got the same roof estimate text at 10pm at nite new something was wrong with this. Thanks for posting guys. This isnt the first time I got a text for a quote that was a scam.
Scam! Caller wanted a roofing estimate. Wanted to pay with a credit card. Never called only texted. The person said his name was Norman David. I called the number and a recording came on of a 32 year old female wanting to party. The prefix 786 is a scam area code according to the internet.
The same thing happened to me just now. I said I wouldn't do anything till I spoke with him and signed contacts and some African guy finally answered the phone and was getting aggressive and called me stupid. I checked up on this more and it is a scam against a contractors insurance.

asked for a roofing estimate and said he would pre-pay. however, he was not in town and wanted to run his credit card through my reader, but i don't have one.. anyway figured this huy was a scammer. looked up the property address and he was ot listed as owner and house was in foreclosure. not sure what he was up to but i dont want to know
