I received 2 messages on my answering machine from a person with an Indian or Pakistani accent claiming that I owe $2,200 in back taxes for 2011-2015. There was a lot of noise in the background when I returned his call. He was having trouble hearing me (although I was virtually shouting) and due to a pronunciation problem I couldn't catch everything he was saying to me. After a couple of minutes during which I struggled to communicate he hung up.
This heavy accented foreigner called said he was IRS and our property is being investigated. Called back to see what this likely prank was about. He couldnt hear me even though I was talking loudly. Loud background noise wherever he was at......he did not speak proper English either. I told him I thought he was a fraud and I was going to check this out then he hung up on me. How do we stop these fools?
