dont take chances with these phone stalkers. call the police. its too easy for killers and rapists like these to get your address, your kids school address, your phone number, etc. put these criminals in jail where they belong.
CID just showed the phone number, a pretty good indication it's a scam. Since I didn't recognize the number, I, of course, didn't answer. No message was left which is also an indication of a scammer. If they call again, the number will be blocked as I do with all other low-life scamming operations.
I always answer these calls.
1. I stop them (if it not a recorded voice)
2. I ask them what they are selling. If they say they are not selling anything, it is a scam.
3. If the voice's accent is Indian, I ask them if they know they are going to be reincarnated as a worm.
Now >Murray J: You should never call anyone an idiot. Betty is concerned about herself & family, which she should be. Yes these numbers are usually spoofed, but if enough people complain, the Feds will "unspoof" the telephone system and make it against the law to spoof. And I bet Betty is like me, If I have dialed a wrong number, I WILL say that is what I did. I will even wait for their voice mail kicks in to do so.
