Moron using the same name, Benjamin Davenport, left a message on my sister-in-law's answering machine a state away, claiming he was trying to reach me, regarding a matter out of Fulton County, complete with a 3-digit case number. I have no pending legal actions against me, nor have I received anything in the mail from any debt collection companies about anything. This is a new one for me.
For the past several months another scam of the same varietal has been calling my husband and his father, being nothing short of abusive in their tone and spewing any manner of lies to try to get some sort of payout. I would say don't bother with the Attorney General if you're in Ohio. They won't do anything because the scammers won't respond to them by phone or mail, so they then say there's "nothing they can do" and that you should contact an attorney to seek a solution.
Tell them to send you something by mail, and DO NOT give them your address or any other information, including contact info, etc. If they're legit, they will have your mailing address and use it. This is just another thing, I can see it now, that's going to scam the elderly, because if they contact an elderly parent and they don't know anything about these kinds of scams, they might think THEY need to pay up. Ugh. Make sure your family knows about these scams, young and old. Hopefully, some day there will be a solution to all this nonsense.
called me and left a msg about being serve a summons or court docs at my house or place of employment, and to make sure that my supervisor of security is there to when they arrive. it is very annoying and nerve wrecking bec they even said my full name, they would not give any details about the summons. it is definitely a scam, wished they can be stopped.
