I got three calls from that number today, 30 mins apart. Cracked me up. Steve Martin, he-he. And the name definitely didn't match the accent... why not Brad Pitt?
I received a voice mail message saying it was the US Treasury service and I needed to contact them regarding my grand jury criminal offense as I would need to appear before a magistrate judge. I was advised to call back so I could help them to help me. Total scam!!
Recorded message from Steve Miller saying there is a legal problem and I should call. I should help them help me. Tried the number they gave me 786-486-0869 (poor person getting these calls). When I called 786-467-0869 Dominic Reese claims to be from the US Treasury (Agent number 1739) and claims there is a Legal problem he needs to send documents to my attorney. When I hesitated, he said very sternly that he'd asked me a question and expected an answer. I said I was thinking and he hung up.
Yes I just received the exact message claiming to be from the Treasury Dept. and that I needed to appear before the magistrate. Totally a scam. Blocked the number from my phone.
My caller ID shown Florida call with 786-467-0869. The recorded message said his name is Steve Martin and this is from US Treasury. He asked to call back on 786-487-0869. These guys are using US Treasury instead of IRS now. SCAM.
