Creepy caller -- kept asking a nurse, needed a nurse --then said he was looking for somebody with money -- all this was left in my voice mail. Screw the FHP if that's how they talk to people.
I got a call from this number asking to support the Miami Dade Police department, I was told that my number was received in an contact list, but not told from where.
I do not answer unknown numbers. Someone called today at 10:06 AM and did not leave a message when my answering machine picked up. My phone number is registered on the national Do Not Call List and I reported this call to them. Based on this website and another it looks like someone claiming to be either the Florida Highway Patrol or the Miami Dade Police Department is looking for donations. This really sounds like a scam to be as these law enforcement agencies DO NOT call people looking for donations.
Unfortunately, even if they are scams, calls for charitable donations are not preemptively covered by the DNC list. Only after you have asked to be placed on an internal DNC list and 30 days have passed are their calls actionable.
I just received a phone call from this number at 8:51 PM!!! I never answers numbers I don't recognize but scam or not - wtf are you calling at 9 at night for???
