"CallerComplaints" forum indicates that this number is spoofed. I do not know what the basis is for this assertion, but it is certainly possible. I noticed at the same time these *&$ called that, per our call blocker, a new "unavailable" call had been attempted. Suspect it's the same scumbags trying to get us to answer.
It is only a hoax in your uninformed mind. According to the only poster who identified the purpose of the call, it was a fund raiser. As such, whether they keep a large percentage of the money collected for expenses or give most to the cause they are collecting for, this caller is exempt. Other types of nuisance calls are also exempt. Read the information put out by the FTC on exactly what the DNC list is, how it works, what to expect, and what calls are and are not covered.
