My daughter received a text in spanish from 786-650-6147 saying, "I have a familiy of yours that had a car accident call me urgently because I call you and you don't answer" and I told my daughter not to answer the text and not to call the number that is texting her.
I then called the number myself and I told the spanish guy that I had received a text about my familiy member involved in car accident and the spanish speaking guy said, " Yes, your brother crashed my cousins brand new BMW and my cousin kills peopole and if you don't pay up 2k he will kill your brother." I told him I did not have a brother, then he changed the story saying, "well then it is your cousin, I don't know, all we know is that your brother of cousin gave your number to my cousin and my cousin is going to kill him if he does not get 2k, what is your cousin's name?"
I told the guy that I don't have relatives in Miami and he began to yell out bad words and I hung up the phone on him. I then called my son and he said he was having lunch with his boss in the lunchroom at the office and that he has been at work since last night at 9pm and that he has not been involved in any car accident.
Please be aware, if you receive a text or calling alerting you about a family member involved in an accident. If you end up calling the number that has contacted you, never give out names of any information.
Spanish speaking guy asked if i had a brother and then said that he was in a car accident and that he has him captive in his apartment. Asked for money or they would hurt him / even kill him. Luckily i was able to ask a co-worker to call my brother and find out he was ok.....Please be aware!

I got the same call and they said that my brother had been in an accident. Figuring it was a Scam I told him my brother's name is Alberto (I lied). Another voice is heard saying his name is Alberto as if he was confirming the name. I then told him that I my brother's name was not Alberto but we could meet in a Police station to settle any issues. They hung up.
Got a text from this number in Spanish that a family member was in an accident and needed help. Then he calls and says my brother was in an accident. My brother doesn't live in this state. He asked what my brother's name was. When I hung up on him, he texted something lewd and called again.
