Well the Indian accented man said his name was James Howard and that he was calling about 2003 taxes, which were filed improperly. The IRS does not call on the phone! Just another Scam!
Man with thick accent left message asking for someone who does not live here. Said an accident report had been started in his name and to call or he would be in serious legal trouble.
The caller is a scammer trying to scare someone in your household into paying for a accident that didn't happen. This particular scammer is working from an inaccurate list of names and addresses. Block him.
Received a phone call from 786-738-6928. Hobs Walker stated that my wife miss filed her taxes in 2010 and that because we have not responded to mailings (that we did not receive) that we had a warrant out for her arrest. When stated we did not receive any letters I was transferred to Steve Walker. Steve told me the three reasons for our arrest and then transferred me to another person (John Marshall). John stated that if we did not make a payment then the Orange County Police were going to arrest us. We were past the point of making any changes or contacting the IRS so we could only make a payment. $4,986.35 would need to be put in an escrow account. This could only be made at a Walmart. This was a very elaborate scam that had me sucked in for a little while. When I asked for a contact at the IRS that was in charge of our case I was hung up on. 786-738-6928
Received a message on my answering machine on 07/06/2015 basically stating there was law enforcement action against me and I must call ASAP. When I called the number on 07/07, I got a man named Ryan Colemen who proceeded to tell me that he would read the charges against me and I was not to interrupt him. The first charge was failing federal income tax returns late, malicious intent and theft by deception. He then mentioned that they have been sending me mailings, which I have not received. At this point, I called [***]. He then started cursing me out so I hung up.
