How can that be possible? I received the same call and the same message that I won the $50K drawing that I never entered either. How could they possibly hurt our feelings by offering the same "prize" to two strangers?!?
Just got a phone call from Porto Rico. They left a voicemail on my home phone.
Aperently I just won $50,000 in a home owners sweepstakes.
Said that I entered the sweepstake like one and a half years ago, ( too funny because we just moved here and got this phone number 4 weeks ago :) )
I never entered any sweepstakes!!!
I just have to call them back to verify the information they have on me.
Of course they didn't use my name.
The call came from (787) 333-5555. Recording gave a 1-800 call back number.
I did not call back
They called here & left a message, same as Tina mentioned, message said it was about $50,000 homeowner's giveaway & I'm supposed to call back & verify all my info. I did a search for "$50,000 homeowner's giveaway scam" & this is a well-known one. Apparently they try to get you to send them "taxes" due on the $50,000 winnings & also need some "fees", so they can send you your "winnings". I get so sick of crooks with telephones.
Received a robocall from "Pierre" at "National Notification Department" with the following recorded message: "Hi, this is Pierre with the National Notification Department calling you in regards to the entry that was submitted sometime back within the last year-year and a half-in hopes of winning our $50,000 home owner's cash give away. Well, the contest is officially over. We're looking at your name here and we do need to verify the information we have as soon as possible. What we need you to do is give us a call here toll free the office at 1-855-545-7319. We'll look to hear from you as soon as possible and congratulations."
Checking the 855-545-7319 yielded an apparent slew of the exact same calls that have been made spanning back nearly 2 years. The unsolicited call was reported to the FCC as a violation of the Do Not Call registry
