A call came through from "Lehi, UT" that I didn't recognize.  I didn't pick up the call.  They did leave a message, and for me, this was a legitimate follow-up call. I assume this is an outsourced marketing company.  However, I'll add some more info here, in case others need it or it helps.

I recently attended a "Scott Yancey Real Estate" free seminar, and that's what they were calling me about. They're trying to get me to spend $2K for a 3-day workshop on Real Estate Techniques-- many people signed up at the free event, and I may have done so as well.  Without debating the merits of the program, the problem, according to my research, is that at the $2K workshop, they try to sell you on the next round of R.E. education, to the tune of appx. $20K (No, that's not a typo; yes, that's approximately "Twenty Thousand Dollars.")  They make no mention of that, of course, at the first free seminar.  Again, I'm not arguing the merits here, and if it works for you then great...  I'm just reporting the facts, and I believe that people should be made aware of the 'next steps' in their program, and not once you've already dropped significant change on it.

Anyway,  I don't know whether the call came from this group's own marketing dept, or an outsourced co. who has Yancey's program as a client.  If the latter, then your 'reasons' for being called by this company may be different. (Another website shows this call from "The PMI Academy" or something like that. --Again, I assume it's a marketing co. with different clients.)  Good luck.

yes - i got a call from this Lehi, UT company - i did attend a real estate seminar "Mike Holmes" Pathway Events

they were calling to see when i signed up for the 3 day workshop - only 20 out of 1000 signed up at the free half day seminar (with lunch) - $2k for the 3 day workshop but you get the money back if you continue but it sounds like there would be no further requirement except your actual investing in real estate

They called but didn't leave a message.
I did attend the Scott Yancey free seminar where they don't give you the free laptop like they claim.

Thanks this tells me a lot. This Yancey and his wife are con artists. No wonder they make the effort to show up at $20,000 a pop. These seminars present old info and I doubt if they helped even one person. These fraudsters have only one goal in mind and that is to separate you from your wallet.
