Just got the same call. I did not answer, they left the following message in what sounded very much like a computer generated voice:
“This is Ofc. Daisy Jones from the office of Inspector General of Social Security Administration. Your Social Security number has been suspended. Please contact your emergency helpline number at 801-449-0340 -- that is 801-449-0340. Thank you. ”
Called back, guy posed as "federal officer" even went as far as to give a fake badge number. Asked my name, gave partial name. He "corrected me" lol. Then asked for my SSN, I told him he is the "federal officer" he should have it. He called me an M F. I asked him wow really is that how a "federal officer" on a recorded line, speaks, because you apparently are recording me without permission so I have the right to record this call. He hangs up!
